Help Horses Helped by a Monkee

Help Horses Helped by a Monkee

It isn’t easy to self-promote. I gathered every ounce of courage I could find to have a mini-interview with a reporter the other day. But she put me at ease right away when she revealed she too is a Davy Jones fan. She gazed at his photo for a good long time, which I found quite endearing. So, here it is – and I’m still stunned. A few inaccuracies, but it’s good PR for The Davy Jones Equine Memorial Foundation: http://www.statesmanjournal.com/story/news/holdingcourt/2015/08/11/help-horses-helped-monkee/31503239/

Did I Really Finish Writing a Book?

Did I Really Finish Writing a Book?

I have been writing stories since my early school years. Never in a million years did I ever expect to finish one and publish it. It’s just not usually in my nature. I have a myriad of unfinished projects – THAT is my true nature.

But suddenly an idea came along, and it had the potential to help a charity that is near and dear to my heart – The Davy Jones Equine Memorial Foundation (DJEMF.com).

November 2014 National Novel Writing Month propelled my idea. I had 52,000 words at the end of that event. For the next eight months I rounded it out, edited, checked, double-checked, created the cover and… BOOOM! It’s done.

So, I guess that answers my question – Yes, I finished writing a book! Hmm… maybe I should tackle that sweater I began knitting years ago. Or perhaps I’d do better with the baby blanket I’m crocheting. Decisions, decisions.
